On-Line Motor Diagnostics in a Hand-Held Instrument.
The first Motor Current Signature Analysis (MCSA) and Power Quality Analysis system to utilize a hand held, light-weight, data collector. It is no longer necessary to carry a PC to the test site. The system evaluates the electrical and mechanical health of an AC or DC motor and its driven load, as well as incoming power quality showing complete ac/dc power/energy cost analysis. The unit does not require entering nameplate data before data collecting. This can be done after the testing and before auto-analysis. Running Speed, Pole Pass Frequency, rotor bars and stator slots are found automatically and the software automatically determines if bearing problems exist as well as static and dynamic eccentricity related problems. Successfully applied on AC induction, synchronous, machine tool, variable frequency drives, eddy-current drives, generators, DC motors, transformers, data logging, power quality analysis and more.
