PREDICTIVE MAINTENANCE (PdM) ENGINEER/ANALYST
Job Description:
Responsible for assessing the condition of large equipment by collecting and analyzing diagnostic data. The goal of this data capture is to achieve higher equipment reliability and lower maintenance costs, up/down time, and repair/replacement costs for the customer through the application of predictive maintenance technologies. After data collection, prepare reports for identifying machine health and reliability problems and makes recommendations for improvements. Other responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Gathering and examining basic reliability data from field studies or database utilizing available predictive maintenance technologies, including, but not limited to, vibration analysis, oil analysis, motor-testing, battery testing and/or infrared thermography to determine machine health condition.
• Present details of the analysis to more experienced systems engineers for approval/feedback for gaining in-depth experience and improving judgment for advancing to higher level jobs.
• Maintaining accurate records of machinery conditions and related history.
• Assisting in root cause failures analysis to avoid future failures.
• Responding to call-outwork as required
• Performing other work as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
• Bachelors Degree in a technical field, or equivalent degree, and 3-7 or more years of job-related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
• Naval experience using Vibration technology, sonar, submarine or other technology highly desired
• Experience using diagnostic tools (DLI experience highly desired).
• Experience in one or more of the Predictive Maintenance areas: Vibration Analysis, Oil Analysis, Machine Motor and/or Battery Testing is highly desired, but we are willing to cross-train on multiple functions
• Vibration Certification through the Vibration Institute or major vendor certification program, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience, and the willingness to complete the Vibration Specialist Certification
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must be customer-focused and possess a flexible, positive attitude.
• Strong PC skills and working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook
• Willingness to travel to customer plant locations.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Must possess a valid driver’s license.
• Possess the appropriate body coordination to do the following for extended periods of time: climb ladders, bending, twisting, kneeling, crawling, pulling/pushing, lift up to 50 pounds, standing, walking, and squatting.
• Ability to work alone in remote areas.
• Ability to work in dark areas or areas with limited lighting.
• Work in ambient temperatures ranging from very cold to very hot.
• Work in areas that may be noisy and dirty.
• Possess good hearing and vision.
