Principal Accountabilities:

Perform Reliability, Maintainability, and Availability (RMA) analyses for government review and approval. Examples of these analyses include Failure Mode Effects and Criticality Analysis (FMECA), RMA Allocations, Assessments & Analysis (RMAAAA), equipment Mean-time-between-failure (MTBF), Mean-time-to-repair (MTTR) analyses, and shipboard equipment Failure Analysis Reports (FARs).

Interface with Functional/System Engineers to resolve equipment/system reliability issues, including possible redesign.
Track and analyze equipment failures, including interaction with buyers & suppliers to support Failure Review Boards.
Required Education/Training:
BS degree in Engineering required. BS degree in Reliability Engineering and/or Electrical Engineering preferred. Certified Reliability Engineer highly preferred.
Experience (type and number of years):
Senior Reliability Engineer requires 6 years related engineering experience. Reliability Engineer (Engineer III level) requires only 3 years or related engineering experience.
Electrical Engineering experience preferred. Both require the following:
* Familiarity with Reliability Theory, Reliability Modeling, and related MIL-Standards strongly desired.
* Solid knowledge of shipboard mechanical & electrical systems desired.
* Excellent communication skills required, due to frequent interfacing with various vendors, buyers, subcontractors and NAVSEA organization.
