A Southern New Hampshire consumer products manufacturer is seeking a forward-thinking maintenance professional to manage the operational activities of skilled mechanics in support of a 24/7 state-of-art facility in order to ensure the optimal and safe performance of all related systems, processes and equipment.

Specific responsibilities will include:
• Coaching, motivating and training hourly and salaried staff through performance management and building core competencies by initiating in-house skills development programs
• Further development of a preventative and predictive, world-class equipment reliability environment that will include accurate and timely evaluation and repair of mechanical, electrical, programming and instrumentation, and utility systems and processes
• Developing systems and processes for the entire facility, including energy conservation, downtime reduction, PSM and GMP objectives
• Best practices to ensure compliance with all external regulatory agencies to include PMO, OSHA, EPA, FDA
• Advocate of environmental, safety and quality initiatives
• Reviewing and evaluating bids and proposals as they relate to vendor selection and project management
• Managing third-party contracts for non-core activities, including HVAC, waste water and boilers.
• Capital project management experience

The successful candidate will have a B.S.M.E., E.E. or I.E. or equivalent, working knowledge of PLC’s, a demonstrated track record of several years of leadership experience in a contemporary, proactive work environment. Related experience in either a food manufacturing and / or high speed packaging facility is preferred. Have an operating style that is proactive versus reactive. Proficiency in MS Project and CMMS is critical.

The Refinery Services Department is tasked with providing skilled and qualified craftsmen and supervision to execute the Asset Management Strategy. The primary job functions of the Reliability Superintendent are to help develop and implement the Asset Management Strategy through managing the day to day activities of Planning Supervisor and planners, Main Shop Supervisor and craftsmen, Reliability Practitioners, Supervisors and craftsmen. These efforts advance the Refinery Services Departments results in the following focus areas.

2. Defect Elimination

5. Reliability Processes

The Reliability Superintendent leads and manages the Asset Management strategy for Boron Operations fixed plant equipment. Critical to the business, long term, and is focused on Asset Health and economic operation. This role is accountable to provide technical assistance needed to maintain equipment, as well as equipment condition and reliability information required to ensure the department is capable of processing the entire ore deposit through the life of the mine with minimal chance of a catastrophic equipment failure or long term business interruption. This strategy must consider changes in product demand, pressure to reduce cost and be driven to increase earnings.

The successful candidate will be able to:
• Drive positive Safety Culture
• Ensure compliance with RTM safety, health and environmental standards and procedures.
• Support other maintenance supervisors and senior maintenance staff by continuing to meet the objectives of the business defined by the Director of Refinery Services.
• Develop and implement a condition monitoring program that utilizes appropriate inspection methods.
• Develop and implement a reliability program that includes rigorous data analysis, root cause failure analysis, failure mode and effect analysis, RCM studies, Lean/Six Sigma studies, and influence equipment acquisition decisions, maintenance tactics decisions, and equipment life cycle expectations.
• Implement and develop the department maintenance procedures and work flows.
• Review and manage department maintenance costs.
• Project management (directly and through interaction with project engineering) to insure that projects will meet the business unit needs.
• Interact with other superintendent/managers concerning supervisor development, resource management and equipment standardization.
• Direct relationship with the production superintendents concerning planning and scheduling of maintenance opportunities, production issues, short and long term goals and departmental costs.
• Equipment research and development to improve equipment reliability and production outputs for increased revenues to the business.
• Provide the leadership to drive “Best Practice” principles in the plant equipment performance and reliability. This will sustain the plants ability to produce Borates that meet the market demand, create opportunity for employees to be challenged, set and meet goals and have a safe place to work.
• Respond to identified short comings in the Asset Management strategies by developing or coordinating appropriate corrective actions, such as new inspection or equipment maintenance tactics or equipment and operating procedure modifications, based on root cause failure analysis, failure mode and effect analysis, RCM studies, or Lean/Six Sigma studies.
The qualified candidate will possess the following credentials and characteristics:
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a similar related field
• 3-7 years of progressively more responsible experience in leading teams of technical specialists/planners, schedulers and/or supervisors.
• PE (Professional Engineer – state engineering license) and CMRP (Certified Maintenance Reliability Professional certification) would be a plus.
• Training or experience in Root Cause Failure Analysis, Failure Mode and Effect Analysis, Reliability Centered Maintenance Studies, Lean/Six Sigma studies, various equipment purchase and installation industrial standards, equipment performance calculations, and familiarity with various NDT and condition monitoring methods.

Overall Job Purpose:
Support the predictive services department from a technical position as it relates to vibration technology, thermography, ultrasound, failure analysis and oil analysis.
Responsibilities Include:
• Capture data, using current predictive tools, on Draglines, Shovels, and Plant Equipment, Fixed and Variable Speed applications.
• Analyze data from direct point connections, report findings of component condition and make recommendations to the maintenance superintendents of what needs to be done.
• Generate repair orders for components that require attention, direct the work force during the needed repairs to ensure work is completed to the proper standards.
• Develop a budget forecast based on component condition and a replacement date before component failure.
• Train other predictive personal as needed to ensure future success and cost savings for mining operation(s).
Preferred Education & Experience:
• Minimum 5 years field maintenance experience or applicable degree
• Vibration, ultrasound, oil analysis or thermal imaging experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficiency with Ellipse, Excel, Word, and Data collection software
