February 17, 2008   Predictive Maintenance Technician – Columbus, GA Area

IVC Technologies is a Predictive Services provider to various industry types with nationwide coverage.  Due to phenomenal growth in the Southeast Region, we are in the process of finding candidates to fill a critical position located in the Columbus, GA (Phenix City, AL) area.  This is a key position for the company and will present growth opportunities to the right person both economically and professionally.

Qualifications Required – IVC Technologies is interested in interviewing candidates who currently have work experience in the field of Vibration Analysis, and hold a Level 1 Certification or higher in this technology.  Additional experience in the Pulp and Paper Industry would be considered a plus for potential candidates but is not required.

Primary Job Duties – As a minimum, the candidate will be responsible for collecting “Route Based” vibration data at an existing customer site, analyzing the vibration data & reporting all findings back to the customer via our standard reporting methods, and ensure open lines of communications are maintained between IVC Technologies and our customers.

February 17, 2008   Mechanical Reliability Engineer-Rotating Equipment

Honeywell Specially Materials division wants to grow by 15-30% in the next 5 years. In order to accomplish this, they want to hire 80 engineers to help standardize the chemical plants around the nation.  These are full time positions- candidates would be hired for a position such as Maintenance or Reliability Engineers and assigned to a particular plant.  The duties would be similar to what he or she would do in a chemical plant. However, in addition, his or her ideas would contribute to the overall effort to standardize processes---Contributions will make an impact on a much larger scale.  This is an opportunity to contribute to the engineering direction of the organization as a whole.

Major Areas of Responsibility:
• Developing Mechanics Alerts, performing safety audits and directing Reliability hourly work group on task routines
• Interfacing with the Maintenance Planning & Execution groups to meet maintenance objectives
• Performing Reliability function for assigned production areas
• Identifying and utilizing preferred equipment manufacturers, specialists, and consultants
• Inspection of new and repaired equipment and for making spare parts recommendations
• Managing the predictive monitoring of equipment, documenting repairs and PM equipment inspections during TARs
• Root Cause Failure Analysis
• Developing Reliability procedures
• Must have experience in vibration and rotational testing and analysis; determinents of rotational failure and prevention
• Developing and implementing the MI compliance program pertaining to area of expertise
• Providing designed guidance for new technology
• Other work as required


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
• Bachelors Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• At least 1 year of plant experience in Reliability, Maintenance, Project, or Production Engineering role.
• Must have a strong proficiency in various software programs including MS PowerPoint, Access, Excel, Outlook, Word, Visio, Project, Adobe Acrobat and ERP system.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
• Knowledge of Maintenance module for SAP or equivalent ERP System.
• Handle multiple tasks simultaneously and autonomously.
• Work efficiently and effectively in a high-stress, high pressure environment.
• Willingness to take the lead in the development and improvement of new/existing processes.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment.

Honeywell’s Specialty Materials division is looking for about 15% increase in yield per plant and they want to bring them all state-of-the-arts.  Therefore they are currently hiring 80 engineers to look at their plants throughout North America and have dubbed this hiring initiative “Project 80”. These positions range from Project Mangers, Process, Process Safety, to Automation/Controls and Reliability engineers. .

The SM division is expected to grow 15-30% growth over the next 5 years and this is an opportunity to be part of an initiative with key impact to the organization.  They want to standardize process throughout North America to the extent possible, completely move to Reliability centered maintenance and implement state-of-the art process controls. 

This is a full time position, and you would be hired for a particular plant.  The duties would be similar to any process engineer would be doing in a chemical plant. SUMMARY:
MAJOR AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY include the following. (Other duties may be assigned):

• This position will work to improve instrumentation & electrical and power distribution reliability by applying Reliability Engineering principles, statistical data analysis and supporting work process for the Chesterfield site.
• Trains and assists people how to prepare Reliability Plans for critical Instrumentation & Electrical/Power systems: Preventive Maintenance, Predictive Maintenance, Operator Monitoring, Critical Repair activities, and Spare Parts bills of materials quality assurance.
• Analyzes failures and recommends corrective action.
• Leads Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA) teams and uses the Apollo RCFA method where appropriate.
• Leads Reliability-focused Failure Modes and Effects Analyses teams where appropriate.
• Partners with SM Engineering Dept and other resources to establish Design Standards for Electrical Systems.
• Functional Owner of the Electrical elements of the Specialty Materials’ Inspection, Testing and Preventive Maintenance standards for OSHA 1910.119 Mechanical Integrity element of Process Safety Management..
• Maintains currency with developments in the Instrumentation & Electrical Power fields to recommend improvements to current practices.
• Interprets NFPA 70E Standard for Electrical Safety Requirements in the workplace and implements findings at site.  Develops an Electrical PPE program at site.
• Conducts Periodic Site Electrical Reliability Assessment (3 to 5 years)

Responsibilities of Position:
• This position will work to improve rotating equipment reliability by applying Reliability Engineering principles.

Attributes/Skills Required/Sought:
• Capable of analyzing data from equipment history records (SAP, equipment files, vendor research) as basis for reliability plans.
• Experience in rotating machinery reliability (pumps, fans, compressors, centrifuges, conveyors, agitators, gearboxes, bearings, mechanical seals, couplings).
• Knowledge in the use and application of predictive technologies (vibration, lubricant & fluid analysis, infrared, alignment, balancing, and other NDT technologies as applied to Rotating Machinery).
• Portrays excellent team leadership skills.  Effective in working with and learning from personnel in various roles and from diverse backgrounds; including engineers, designers, drafters, union and non-union craftspeople, suppliers, and construction contractors.
• Experience with utilizing SAP-PM for reliability data collection and analysis is a plus.
• Good proficiency in use of Microsoft products: Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, and Visio

Experience/Education Required/Sought:
• BS Mechanical Engineering, and 3+ years related experience.
• Vibration Analyst Certification desired.
• Six Sigma Green Belt Certification desired.
• Hands-on Reliability Engineering in heavy industrial settings desired (Chemicals, Petroleum, Steel, Pulp & Paper, etc).
