LIONHEART is the premier service center for power systems equipment including; generators, automatic transfer switches, UPS, battery systems and related equipment serving the upper Midwest.  Our Power Systems Division is adding qualified candidates to perform preventive maintenance and corrective actions on a broad spectrum of UPS sizes and manufacturers.  Candidates will be responsible for complicated maintenance and service activities on Uninterrupted Power Systems (UPS) and associated equipment including; batteries, power distribution units and maintenance bypass switches.

Successful candidates will perform tests, inspections and evaluate uninterruptible power (UPS) supplies.
Perform field service functions of preventive, predictive and reactive maintenance
Perform installations, commissioning/start-ups and training
Conduct battery testing, replacement, installation and disposal
Promote and execute service contracts
Maintain detailed records of equipment serviced
Travel throughout service designated territory
Successful candidate must be able to work independently

Skills required:
- Familiar with UPS topologies, application and installation requirements
- Have developed competencies in single and three-phase equipment
- Strong knowledge of analog and digital power switching devices and applications
- Knowledge of microprocessor controls and programming of components
- Ability to demonstrate proficient use of industry tools
- A working knowledge and use of drawings and applicable mathematic formulas
- Knowledge of VRLA and wet cell battery design and operation
- A mature approach to business as in independent contributor
- Strong oral and written communication with developed interpersonal skills is needed

A diverse background in the UPS field of work and knowledge of related disciplines with strong organizational skills are essential.  Qualified candidates will have an Associates degree in Electrical Science - preferred, a minimum of 2 years relevant experience with major UPS makes/models, application and installation criteria, specific testing requirements including local and National codes, knowledge of critical and essential PDU’s, and DC Power Systems.  This position requires the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks.  Strong oral and written communication with developed interpersonal skills is needed.  Certain sites may require employees to obtain security clearances. Responsibilities: 
1. Utilizes all available predictive maintenance technologies including, but not limited to, vibration analysis, oil analysis, infrared thermography, and ultrasound to determine machinery condition

3. Maintains, calibrates, and repairs all condition monitoring instrumentation

6. Applies knowledge of plant system functions including maintenance work practices and divisional safe work practices
7. Performs emergency response activities as required

10. Performs general housekeeping functions, as necessary

Qualifications:
• Must have experience calibrating, troubleshooting, and repairing instrumentation
• Achieve a successful score on the Power Plant Maintenance (MASS) aptitude test
• Associates Degree in a technical field or equivalent degree and 3-5 years of job-related experience or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
• Level I Vibration Certification through the Vibration Institute or major vendor certification program -OR- equivalent combination of education and/or experience AND the ability and willingness to complete the Level I Vibration Specialist Certification within two years
• Good oral and written communication skills required
• Must have basic computer skills
• Work rotating shift work, holiday and weekend work in addition to overtime
• Read, write and speak English

WORK LOCATION:  There are two positions available, located at the West Point Treatment Plant,1400 Utah Street W., Seattle, WA 98199 and the South Treatment Plant, 1200 Monster Road S.W., Renton, WA 98055

WORK SCHEDULE:  This full-time position is exempt from the provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act, and is not overtime eligible.  The standard workweek is 40 hours per week. 

JOB DESCRIPTION: These positions will provide technical lead responsibilities for the development and implementation of a Reliability Centered Maintenance (RCM) program at each of the Division’s wastewater treatment plants.  They will provide technical oversight, quality control, testing procedures, and certification of plans and documents relating to reliability centered maintenance services supporting Wastewater Treatment Division (WTD) projects and maintenance activities. Project assignments are broad and varied and require extensive analysis to develop and refine an overall scope of work.

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTIONS:

Lead, direct and perform complex work involving wastewater treatment and collections systems including; commissioning, project management, design, economic analysis, maintenance strategy development, reliability centered maintenance practices and the preparation, review and approval of design and contracts documents.

Develop and provide direction for the Operations and Maintenance Reliability program – diagnose and analyze all maintenance data including condition monitoring data to provide appropriate corrective action prolonging equipment life and to achieve or surpass equipment performance metrics. Prepare periodic updates and annual reports to the Operations Manager and other maintenance program stakeholders.

Develop maintenance plans to achieve maximum asset reliability.  Develop and lead cross functional teams through Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) and maintenance improvement strategies to prevent premature equipment failure of critical equipment.

Provide leadership and participate with staff at all levels of the organization to develop and create the WTD reliability program.  Interface with project design teams to promote “Reliability Design” concepts; and in coordination with Maintenance Supervisors develop the initial recommended maintenance strategy for newly designed and acquired assets.  Focus on best practices and development of reliability methods, and provide input as to how to apply these process improvements into WTD’s maintenance improvement program.

As assigned, supervise assigned staff.  Staff may include a number of subordinate teams or organizational units which may require training, regular feedback and flexible resource scheduling.

Lead and develop WTD’s Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) efforts for critical assets. Develop and direct WTD’s RCM program by facilitating FMEA and RCM analysis of identified critical assets.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

Bachelor of Science in Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience that demonstrates knowledge of the principles and practices of engineering

Four years increasingly responsible experience demonstrating RCM program development, knowledge of the principles and practices of RCM management techniques and principles, systems operations, and one or more of the following:  commissioning wastewater (or other similar industrial) process equipment; or conducting project alternative analysis using “full life-cycle” or “business case” economic cost evaluations for capital projects, including asset replacement decision justifications.

Experience with the design, project management, installation, field engineering, and maintenance of rotating mechanical equipment (pumps, blowers, compressors, centrifuges, agitators, gear boxes, etc) and building components as normally acquired through seven (7) to ten (10) years of related experience in wastewater, power, process or related industrial field.

Advanced analytical abilities to evaluate alternative design and maintenance strategy proposals

Demonstrated abilities to work effectively as part of a highly diverse project team and to develop and maintain productive working relationships with maintenance, operations engineering and other internal and external team members

Advanced skill in negotiation, problem solving techniques and principles and dispute resolution techniques principles

Skilled in assessing and evaluating circumstances to make decisions within and outside of established guidelines and procedures to insure that the treatment plant is in compliance with established regulations and laws

Skilled in delivering formal and informal presentation materials to technical and non-technical audiences

NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

Experience with engineering design alternatives, asset life-cycle tracking, cost/benefit analysis and project management skills in combination with heavy industrial maintenance experience

Experience with reliability programs, such as Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA), reliability centered maintenance (RCM) practices, root cause failure analysis (RCFA), risk management and condition monitoring processes and procedures

HIGHLY DESIRABLE QUALIFICATION:

Certified RCM or similar program facilitator and/or trainer

WA State P.E. license (or the ability to convert an out-of-state license within 90 days from date of hire)

Masters degree in Engineering or Business Administration

Experience in productivity and efficiency programs

Experience with wastewater treatment plant operations

Experience with condition monitoring techniques

Proficiency with MS Access and Oracle databases, SQL, AutoCAD and other engineering applications software

LICENSING/CERTIFICATION:

JOB DESCRIPTION
The individual in this position provides engineering consulting services to the Lyondell/Equistar sites on a worldwide basis, capital projects group, other groups within Engineering, the business teams and the R&D department.  The incumbent also leads one or more company wide reliability improvement programs.  The position requires very good troubleshooting ability for stationary equipment typical of the refining and petrochemical industry.

The technical knowledge and skills needed in this area include stress analysis of pressure containing petrochem/refining equipment such as piping, pressure vessels, heat exchangers and tanks.  Familiarity with pertinent industry codes such as ASME, ANSI, TEMA and API and pressure equipment design/analysis software such as PVElite, Compress, Caesar, FEPipe or FEA software is highly desirable.  In particular piping design experience is desirable at this time.

The incumbent requires leadership skills and ability to lead colleagues in the execution of multi-disciplinary technical assignments.  The individual must be self-motivated initiating contacts within and outside the company to gather and/or develop information necessary to perform the job function.  The incumbent should be able to interface and communicate effectively at all levels from craft labor through senior plant/project management.  Good persuasion and influencing skills are essential.

REQUIREMENTS
