The Senior Reliability Advisor position offers an excellent opportunity to be involved in exciting, leading-edge projects and initiatives within the company. The position interacts broadly across the Kennecott value stream, from drilling and blasting through concentrating, smelting, refining and finished product, allowing the employee to obtain significant knowledge of the business unit and be involved in many different areas. It also interacts with the Rio Tinto Center of Excellence on the subject, providing an extensive network, opportunity for collaboration and access to learning leading practice. In addition to much else, the position will be involved with:
• Applying advanced reliability technical/functional expertise and assisting Kennecott operations/maintenance & reliability professionals with “leading practice” work management.
• Identifying, developing, and maintaining Kennecott reliability standards such as reliability-centered maintenance, condition-based maintenance, life cycle analysis, and asset health monitoring.
• Establishing strong collaborative relationships within Kennecott, Rio Tinto Technology & Innovation, and other business units.
• Participates and influences Rio Tinto direction with reliability systems, programs, tools, etc. Monitors and contributes to the Rio Tinto Collaborative Forum for Reliability.
• Acting in a “role of influence” primarily with managers, engineers, technicians and other reliability professionals. Organizes ad-hoc teams to address specific reliability-related subjects or issues.
Skills, Experience & Education:
• A bachelor’s degree in engineering or a related field is desirable, but not required. Reliability, Mechanical, and Electrical, Engineering degrees preferred.
• Extensive technical knowledge/experience (6 - 12+ years) in reliability-focused positions. Experience with complex problem identification, solution development and action implementation. Experience in advancing modern asset management philosophies / programs.
• Exposure to and application of the following disciplines: 1) reliability centered maintenance - RCM, 2) root cause analysis - RCA, 3) condition based / predictive maintenance – CBM (vibration, tribology, infrared, ultasonics, etc.), 4) business improvement techniques (Lean / Six Sigma), 5) leadership, 6) team management, and 7) change management/stakeholder management.
• Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills a must. This position interacts with people at all levels of the organization, often in the capacity of advisor or consultant.

We have an immediate opening for a Maintenance Leader at our Cedar Springs, Georgia Facility.
This position leads all maintenance personnel and provides mill-wide leadership as part of the Operations Leadership Team and Reports to the Vice President, Manufacturing.
RESPONSIBILITIES: Will manage and direct work process for maintenance functions at an integrated pulp and paper mill, functioning as a part of the Mill Leadership team. Works with other staff managers, engineers, and production managers to understand the mill needs for daily work and shutdowns and then provide necessary plans, resources and execution to meet those needs. This position is responsible for establishing and administering budgets for maintenance expense and capital work, then managing against those budgets including explanation of variances. This position is responsible for recruiting and hiring, performance management, team member development, coaching, and positive discipline of the department personnel.
EDUCATION: Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in an Engineering discipline (or related field) or equivalent. Advanced degree preferred.
KNOWLEDGE:
• Knowledge of and application of OSHA standards and requirements
• Strong PC skills with a CMMS, MS Word, Excel, and Power Point MS Project
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: Leadership experience in manufacturing with customer focus in Mechanical and Electrical/Instrumentation Maintenance. Experience in Reliability Maintenance including Root Cause Failure Analysis (RCFA), Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) and pulp and paper manufacturing experience all a plus. Good leadership and communication skills required.
