Provide technical support to plant operations and maintenance groups in an area team on a twenty-four hour per day and seven day per week basis.

Primary Responsibilities
Complete capital and expense projects. This may include§ conceptual design, present in¬-house review of design, detailed engineering, equipment procurement, construction management, commission new equipment, staff training, and project closeout.
Monitor and report on plant performance,§ reliability, and efficiency.
Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable§ ASME, National Board, Federal, and Local Codes.
Complete economic analysis§ and feasibility studies on existing and proposed plant equipment.
Develop§ training programs for plant personnel for new and existing equipment.
§ Support the plant and company safety program. Conduct investigations and barrier analysis on safety related incidents. Lead plant by personal example in safely completing all work assignments.
Complete Root Cause Analysis on equipment§ failures, loss of unit capacity, and other operating incidents.

Secondary Responsibilities
May be required to fill in on a temporary basis for any§ management or craft position at the plant.
May be required to work at§ another plant on a temporary basis.

Provide plant performance management and technical support for 2 electric generating fossil units with goals to complete unit and equipment performance evaluations, specify/procurement of new equipment for plant improvement, implementation of projects, testing, data collection/tracking and evaluation for the improvement of plant performance, reliability and generation output. Develop processes as required to implement consistent means to achieve improvement objectives. This position will focus on plant thermal and combustion performance issues and related impacts to heat rate, reliability and production costs.

Leads Engineering organization in support§ of plant performance and availability and also support for the predictive maintenance program
Leads Engineering organization and coordinates with§ other organizations in project economic analysis, justification, and approval and in developing, designing, and executing projects
Responsible for§ project management and review of work performed by outside Engineers
§ Reviews and implements (as appropriate) OEM technical bulletins and service advisories
Ensures water chemistry minimally meets OEM and EPRI standards§

This Sr. Maintenance Engineer role will have a heavy reliability emphasis and should have a strong background in the areas of Reliability-Centered Maintenance (RCM), Predictive Maintenance (PdM), condition-based monitoring, FMEA, and other reliability principles. This role provides leadership and technical expertise to other engineers, professionals and technicians in the maintenance group, and has ownership of the PM Programs to ensure that maintenance scheduled tasks are optimized and set up correctly. In addition to much else, the Sr. Maintenance Engineer will be involved in the following areas:

• Verify equipment assets are configured in the system properly and per standards. 
• Provide ownership for all condition monitoring execution performed in the plant area. 
• Document and generate reports and drawings for equipment upgrades and distribute as needed. 
• Ensure quality assurance and controls are integrated into craft procedures.
• Provide ongoing audit of parts lists starting with most critical equipment first.
• Perform project engineering for maintenance improvements and upgrades as well as shutdowns.
• Measure and review equipment performance by mean time between failures, availability and overall equipment utilization. 
• Ensure continuous improvement.
• Monitor and trend improvement projects. 
• Verify cause and effect diagrams are complete and well thought-out. 
• Verify planned reliability improvement work through field observations.
• Participate in Post-Mortem meetings after major maintenance projects or failures. 
• Assisting in the preparation of yearly maintenance budgets. 

Education/Experience/Skill Requirements:
• B.S degree in mechanical, electrical or reliability engineering or related field required.
• 5+ years experience in an industrial maintenance environment.
