Position requires a B.S. degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field with a minimum of 1 year engineering experience in a chemical manufacturing plant for Grade 14, a minimum of 3 years experience for Grade 16, and a minimum of 6 years experience for Grade 18.  Position requires experience in providing technical support to the maintenance department; excellent verbal/written communication, interpersonal and computer skills; ability to effectively lead cross-functional teams in reliability projects; and experience with problem-solving rotating and stationary equipment (such as pumps, conveyors, blowers, dust collectors, etc.). 

Preferences include experience in conducting reliability functions such as reliability engineering, reliability centered maintenance (RMC), root cause failure (RCFA), and preventive maintenance optimization; strong knowledge of reliability data assessment, statistical analysis, and improvement methods; familiarity with CMMS/EAM (SAP, Maximo, Passport or Oracle); and a member of SMRP.

This position is a key role in developing proactive maintenance practices that drives maintenance organization to continuously strive for reliability excellence.

Scheduled Work Hours:  Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m.  However, hours can be irregular. Nights, weekends, and extra hours will be required as plant conditions dictate.

Summary of Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Provide resources to power plants and administer a comprehensive predictive maintenance program. Responsibilities will include but are not limited to the following: administer IR Thermography and Ultrasonic scanning of electrical and stationary equipment at each of the power plants based on their individual needs.  The programs must include periodic reporting to quantify the benefits and to communicate results to plant personnel.

Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent and six years of related experience including experience in industrial plant environment operating or maintaining electrical or rotating equipment.  Possession of Level I Thermography certification is preferred and may be substituted for up to three years of the experience requirement.  A bachelor’s degree in engineering or computer science may be substituted for up to six years of the above experience requirement.  Regardless of substitutions, must have at least two years of directly related experience.

Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities Required:
Successful candidate must have experience and background to:

 Transition from time based maintenance PM’s to condition based
 Quantify program costs, track savings from catastrophic failures avoided

Must have background using technical reading and writing. Must be able to apply tact, diplomacy, reason and logic. Must be able to respond quickly, develop and apply procedures, process information in an organized, timely and accurate manner.
