April 27, 2007 Shaft Alignment Dial Indicator Set
Most of us know that misalignment is expensive from the tires on your car to the machinery which is your responsibility to keep running smoothly.
Except for the tires, Mr. Shims Dial Indicator Sets helps you with this. Each system can set up in the Rim and Face Method or the Reverse Dial Method.
So the next time someone tells you it is documented that 50% of premature failure can be directly attributed to misalignment. You can say, “Not in my plant, we align within the specified tolerances or better!”
For your shaft alignment needs call Mr. Shims at 1-800-727-4467, Email

April 27, 2007 Baker VFD 3000
Baker Instrument Company designed the EXP3000 as a comprehensive monitoring tool. Along with any three phase induction motor and generator, it will also monitor the activities of Variable Frequency Drives (VFD) applications and AC servo motors. For the first time comprehensive diagnosis of motor problems are facilitated even under the most demanding VFD operation.
The VFD 3000 shows how frequency, speed, torque and voltage level vary with respect to time, enabling identification of transient overloading of the motor by the VFD. It provides the ability to identify and repair poorly tuned speed feedback, making available true motor operating conditions.

April 27, 2007 EZI-action Drum Pumps
EZI-action pumps provide an easy method of dispensing a wide range of liquids from 5 to 55 gallon containers. The pumps dispense fluid on both the up and down stroke with only two moving parts.
All EZI-action pumps feature a safety strap, which locks the pump handle in the closed position to prevent accidental discharge of liquids when not in use.
Optional color-coding of the Safety Strap, when used in conjunction with fluid transferring and dispensing containers, such as Oil Safe®, minimize the risk of fluid cross-contamination and insures the right lubricant is inserted into the right piece of equipment.

April 27, 2007 Simplified displacement monitoring with the iT230
The new iT230 Intelligent Transmitter is a vibration transmitter with displacement output. The displacement 4-20 mA output signal has a maximum full scale available of 100 mils (0.100 inches).
Using a velocity sensor and Intelligent Transmitter to obtain machine vibration information in terms of displacement saves money and greatly simplifies installation, compared to a proximity probe, and provides useful bearing cap displacement measurements.
The iT230 has 4-20 mA output proportional to overall case vibrations and can be used with your existing PLC or DCS network. Raw velocity vibration data is also available from a BNC connector on the front of the DIN-rail mounted module, to diagnose problems with portable vibration analyzers.

An iPresentation Tutorial by Richard Scott, ALL-TEST Pro, LLC
Condition Based Monitoring (CBM) or Predictive Maintenance (PdM) programs are important, but many companies overlook the immediate payback that a low cost Motor Circuit Analysis (MCA) test instrument provides by using it for incoming motor testing and trouble-shooting installed motors. Moreover, these instruments can be used by an average skilled electrician with just a few hours of training.

April 20, 2007 Learn About Arc-Flash from Hawk IR
What is an Arc Flash?
Think of an arc flash as a short circuit through the air. In an arc flash incident, an enormous amount of concentrated radiant energy explodes out wards from the electrical equipment creating pressure waves that can damage a persons hearing, a high-intensity flash that can damage their eyesight and a superheated ball of gas that can severely burn a workers body and melt metal. The pressure waves can also send loose material like pieces of damaged equipment, tools and other objects flying through the air.
