December 22, 2006   IR-Fusion™ Technology

IR-Fusion Technology, only from Fluke Corporation, captures a visible light image and an infrared image together in one image to take the mystery out of IR image analysis.

To communicate critical information, infrared images only are no longer enough. With IR-Fusion technology, one can better identify details, manage and analyze images by combining both the infrared and visible light images. IR-Fusion technology simultaneously captures pixel-for-pixel infrared and visible light images. With the integrated laser pointer visible on the images, precise and accurate (faulty) component identification is very easy.

5 viewing modes:

Full IR – For troubleshooting and analyzing equipment and installations with very high resolution IR imaging.

Picture-in-Picture – For creating an IR ‘window’ surrounded by a visible light frame to easily identify thermal anomalies, while maintaining a frame of reference with surroundings (shown).

Alpha Blending – For combining visible and infrared images together in any ratio to create a single image with enhanced detail helping to precisely locate problems.

IR/Visible Alarm – For displaying only temperatures that fall above, below, or in between a specified range as IR image.

Full Visible Light – A bright, detailed pixel-for-pixel reference image of subject areas for documentation and reporting.

December 22, 2006   Choose SDT for Route-Based Ultrasound Condition Monitoring

How do you manage your critical ultrasound data? DataManager from SDT gives inspectors full control over the creation and editing of ultrasonic routes for PC side management of ultrasonic condition monitoring information. Create as many different routes as necessary, each with 1000 unique and customizable points and each point capable of storing up to 4 individual data points (dBµV, Temp, RPM, dBA). When ready to venture out to the plant to record data, simply download that day’s routes (up to 128 routes can be uploaded) from your PC to the SDT 170MD handheld data collector and away you go.

All data measured with the SDT 170MD is stored to its onboard memory. Once back at the office simply connect the serial/USB cable to upload data to be filed, organized, analyzed, and graphed. Individual alarms can be set for each asset point. Convert DataManager graphs and lists to Microsoft Excel with one mouse click.

Only SDT brings true full function route creation and data collection to a growing community of ultrasound inspectors.

December 22, 2006   Mikron Infrared’s Revolutionary DualVision Technology

What is DualVision? It’s Mikron’s smart combination of infrared and visual images, allowing thermographers to more easily pinpoint a problem’s exact location.

7600PRO Premium Inspection

Mikron Infrared’s premium inspection/PPM camera, the MikroScan 7600PRO, has revolutionary DualVision technology. It displays a thermal image over a visual image on its sizeable LCD screen. Both infrared and visual images can be saved to a removable/commercially available Compact Flash card.

The 7600PRO is an extremely lightweight camera, fully-radiometric, with built-in visual recording capabilities. Linking high-definition 14-bit thermal images and visual images for easy data storage, analysis and post processing has never been more efficient!

ThermalSpection Monitoring Systems

Mikron also incorporates DualVision technology within its ThermalSpection Systems. These systems offer total solutions for remote monitoring and process control, with a combination of Mikron’s accurate M7500 infrared camera, additional detectors, environmentally-suited enclosures, Mikrospec R/T (real-time) monitoring software, system-commissioning services and continuing support.

The ThermalSpection DualVision System uses Mikrospec software to blend visual and infrared real-time images into a single image with correct aspect ratio and spatial area. The resulting composite can be viewed in any percentage of visual/IR, simply by moving a slider bar for adjustment.

The ThermalSpection DualVision Ultra adds ultrasonic detection to visual and infrared cameras. The airborne ultrasound identifies arcing and tracking--useful in electrical substation monitoring.

December 15, 2006   SAP Plant Maintenance Learning Track Added to EAM-2007

Reliabilityweb.com (http://www.reliabilityweb.com) announced the addition of the new SAP Plant Maintenance (SAP PM) Learning Zone as part of EAM-2007 - The Enterprise Asset Management Summit to be held April 3-6, 2007 at the Sheraton Waikiki in Honolulu Hawaii.

Over 20% of our members are SAP Plant Maintenance users so it just made sense to create a specialized learning track for them,” states publisher and conference organizer, Terrence O’Hanlon, CMRP. “As far as we can see - there is no other independent learning platform related to SAP Plant Maintenance. Our members are hungry to share ‘best practices’ with other maintenance and reliability professionals and EAM-2007 is the perfect venue.”

EAM-2007 is collocated with RCM-2007 - The Reliability Centered Maintenance Managers’ Forum and attendees can design a flexible learning track by attending sessions are both events.

“Reliability Centered Maintenance determines the best maintenance work to be performed,” continues O’Hanlon, “and the Enterprise Asset Management system manages the information, labor and material required for that same work as well as recording the history. They each work hand in glove to create world class operational excellence through reliable asset maintenance.”

Other maintenance software represented in case studies and learning sessions include Oracle EAM, MRO an IBM Company, Datastream and MP2 by Infor, RCMO by Meridium, SUPREAM and EXP by Ivara, Oniqua Analytics, RIMS and PMO 2000 by OMCS and MAPCON.

Reliabilityweb.com learning events and conferences draw delegates from over 35 countries and attendance is limited to ensure knowledge transfer and networking opportunities.

“These are practitioner facing event and over 90% of our conference participants report taking back strategies, techniques ands tools that created immediate improvements in the workplace,” O’Hanlon explained, “and that has a lot to do with our last three conferences selling out weeks in advance.”

Both events are endorsed by the Japanese Institute of Plant Maintenance (JIPM) and the Maintenance Engineering Society of New Zealand (MESNZ) and include the Certified Maintenance and Reliability Professional certification exam offered by the Society of Maintenance and Reliability Professionals (SMRP).

December 15, 2006   20 Steps To World Class Maintenance Audio CD by Joel Levitt

Is your maintenance program stuck in low gear? Are you interested in a common sense approach to improve your maintenance activities? Join Joel Levitt, one of today’s leading maintenance trainers as he reveals 20 steps to world class maintenance in this 2 part lecture series.

This audio program traces the road from reactive to proactive maintenance strategy. It is designed for maintenance managers, supervisors and support staff. Organizations frequently use this narration to introduce maintenance concepts to top management, production, purchasing, accounting and stores.

World class maintenance departments are so good at maintenance that they contribute to the effectiveness of the overall organization.

Part 1: Why human nature works against good maintenance practices. Maintenance supports the productive output of the organization. Control of maintenance more effectively supports the customer, limits catastrophes and cuts costs. The first step to world class maintenance is when top management realizes the importance of maintenance to the overall goals of the organization. Other steps covered on this side are mission statement in maintenance, constancy of purpose, patience, customer focus, pro-activity, root cause analysis

Part 2: Team concept, fading of inter-departmental barriers, bring the maintenance user into the department, cross training, continual retraining, people rather then technology, people before economic results, run experiments, statistical tools, self motivated crew.
