June 26, 2006 What Can You See Through an InfraRed Window?
An infrared window allows you to inspect the inside of an electrical cabinet to check the physical condition of the components.
Infrared windows are used to enable thermographers to inspect electrical equipment without increasing their exposure to live components and to keep the electrical gear from exposure to the outside elements.
The goal is to remove the “triggers” of arc flash.
An Infrared window is an assembly with an IR transmissive material that mounts into the electrical enclosure and provides direct line of site for an IR camera to the components requiring inspection.
The most frequently asked regarding infrared windows are:
How do I calculate where to place and infrared window?
How many IR windows will I need?
What can I see through and IR window?
How do I install them?
Get the answers by call Atlas Inspection North America: 800-281-0650 or UK: 440-124-5500460 or…
