December 16, 2005 Des-Case Corporation controls contamination in a new way
FlowGuard™ oil handling products tackle market needs
The newest products to bear the Des-Case trademark are in a new category of offerings: oil handling. Des-Case now manufactures hand carts, hydraulic adaptor with breather kits, and drum adaptor with breather kits. Des-Case continues to present the same solution as in the past: “Keeping Contamination Under Control”, but now with a new member to the contamination control family.
The FlowGuard™ hand carts offer end users greater flexibility over traditional hand carts, which provide little customization. Des-Case’s unique angle offers end users a chance to create their carts entirely on Des-Case’s website at a very affordable price.
Visit http://www.des-case.com/myhandcart/ to specify your cart with our interactive, user-friendly code and cart customizer.
“Consumers are the true architects of this idea,” said Brian Gleason, president of Des-Case. “The FlowGuard™ hand cart series was created to specifically address their desire for a customizable filter cart with superior quality.”
The design of the hand cart incorporates the cleaning capability of dual filter media and the sealing capability of the quick disconnects. Pairing it with FlowGuard™ quick connect adaptors makes oil handling even easier and cleaner. By combining these endorsed methods into one cost-effective package, FlowGuard™ helps conquer ingression of dirt and water.

December 16, 2005 Enterprise Asset Management Users Generate Better Odds at EAM-2006 in Las Vegas
March 8-10, 2006
Orleans Hotel and Casino
Las Vegas Nevada
EAM-2006 brings the intelligence, innovation and leadership of the maintenance and reliability industry together in one place at place at one time. Asset Management challenges and best practices are discussed in a format designed to facilitate knowledge exchange.
Our research indicates that 57% of members reported that the CMMS/EAM implementation failed to generate the anticipated return on investment (ROI). Only 20% characterized their CMMS/EAM implementation as successful.
Many companies have been sorely disappointed with the results of their CMMS/EAM implementations. In some instances, the complex system capabilities and functions that can assist maintenance management are rarely used. The advantages of leveraging maintenance transaction information are often reduced by poor CMMS/EAM work practices.
The learning program EAM-2006 has been designed to increase the odds of increasing the chances of successful implementation and use of enterprise asset management information systems (EAM/CMMS). The workshop leaders, short course instructors and learning zone presenters each bring unique knowledge and experience to EAM-2006.

December 09, 2005 Fluke Ti30™ Thermal Imager: Simple As “Aim, Focus and Shoot”
When purchasing a thermal imager, practical performance is a key consideration. Maintenance organizations require an imager that is affordable, reliable and easily operated by plant technicians. It should also have robust image processing capabilities that improve predictive maintenance results.
The Fluke Ti30 thermal imager enables maintenance personnel to capture high-quality infrared images quickly and easily: users in the field simply need to “aim, focus and shoot.” Because the imager collects temperature data for every one of its 19,200 pixels, analysis of all that information can be performed with the InsideIR™ PC software, in the quiet, comfort and safety of an office.
Palette settings, emissivity values and reflected temperature compensation values are easily changeable after the image is stored in the camera and downloaded to a PC running Fluke InsideIR™ software, which is bundled with the Ti30 imager. This allows one thermography specialist in a plant to manage a much larger infrared predictive maintenance program—and delegate inspection routing responsibilities to maintenance professionals who specialize in the equipment being inspected (e.g. electricians and mechanics). The trained expert is free to handle program management, image analysis and interpretation, and report generation.
