January 28, 2008   SAP Plant Maintenance (EAM) Tip

Making use of the “favorites” menu provided in SAP4.6 (and above) can save allot of time in accessing frequently used transactions quickly rather than having to use the tree navigation method or using manual a list to remember the codes (historically a printed list kept near the keyboard).

Management of the favorites menu can also provide a large benefit in time saving. Creating small sets of logical groupings e.g. “Maintenance Plan related” or “Work order related” folders and renaming the transactions in the favorites menu can optimize browsing within the SAP GUI.

Investing 10-15 minutes to optimize you favorites menu can result in continuous daily time savings and far less frustration when accessing SAP transactions.
